Entertainment Law & ASCAP and BMI Questions

1.  Find an article that discusses whether or not the U.S. is better off or worse off having multiple performing rights organizations (“PRO’s”.)   2.  Find an article discussing whether ASCAP and BMI should merge. Come to class prepared to write an essay on whether ASCAP and BMI should merge.   3.  Write a brief paragraph or two about why SoundExchange is or is not germane to this class. Is SoundExchange also a performing rights organization? Does it compete with ASCAP, BMI, GMR and SESAC?  

4.  Examine the website of a foreign PRO and write an outline of their services and detail their enumerated benefits for members. Do they report annual collections? Cost of collections?
