NHS4000 DEV HEALTH PERSPECTIVE

Assignment Instructions
APPLYING LIBRARY RESEARCH SKILLS
In Week 3, you selected a current health care problem or issue from the provided
options for this assignment. Research your topic, and develop an annotated
bibliography to document your resources.
Reminder: You will use your selected problem or issue again in the Week 9
assignment. The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to document a list of
research references, along with key information about each; the detail about the
reference is the annotation. Developing this annotated bibliography will create a
foundation of knowledge about your chosen problem or issue.
Prepare
You were introduced to this assignment in Week 3, where you were asked to
conduct research in the Capella library to find a total of three scholarly, peerreviewed articles in relation to your selected health care problem or issue for your
annotated bibliography. If you do not have three articles located at this point,
make sure you do before beginning your assignment.
Important Notes: Conduct a library search and refer to the appropriate library
guide link listed for your program as needed. (Health Care Administration
Undergraduate Library Research Guide, Public Health Undergraduate Library
Research Guide, or BSN Program Library Research Guide). Be sure to review
journal articles published within the past three years.
Write Your Paper

names of the databases you used.

journal.

Determine whether information in the academic peer-reviewed journal
article is still relevant.
Explain the relevance of the information sources.

Describe how the health care problem or issue is addressed in each
source.

Discuss what kind of contribution each resource provides.
Annotated Bibliography

using the annotated bibliography organizational format.

annotation.

Present your three annotated references in alphabetical order,
according to the reference citation.

Double-space each reference and format it with a hanging indent.

Provide the full APA reference citation, including the author, date, title,
publisher or publication, and any additional information required by
APA style.
Write the annotation for each citation in paragraph form, using
approximately 150 words (or 1–3 paragraphs). Include the following
components for each annotation:

Identify the purpose of the article.

Summarize the article.

Include the conclusions and findings of the article.
Summary

Week 3
For this assignment, I choose medical errors and uncertainty in primary healthcare. It is of
interest to me because one of my uncles had surgery some years back there was a mistake
during the procedure, and it takes him time to go for another surgery due to the fear of
mistakes, pain, and also money. so, it is of interest to me to know why the error is been
made in healthcare. This research I will say was a little bit challenging because I was
looking for what will suit my topic and the helpful tip, I use was to type in healthcare issues.
The article best reflects my own experience. This week’s content is relevant to my own
profession and academic career which makes me some understanding of what am saying.
