COVID-19 Presentation (75 pts)
COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of our lives, including the international food system that we tap into.
This term, you will conduct in depth research into a specific term topic and present aspects of your topic in
various ways.
In this presentation, you will choose an article that clearly presents some of the key impacts of
COVID-19 on your term topic. This can be a reliable news article or a journal article. It does not have to be
peer-reviewed (this topic is so new that peer-reviewed articles are still emerging on it).
You will present this article in a 3–5-minute presentation. Presentations will occur throughout the
term during lecture session. You will need to sign up for yours on a week that works for you HERE.
You will have 3-5 minutes each. Your presentation will be graded on:

Clear presentation of article – Clearly present your article within the context of your term topic
and our class discussions. Include a clear and correctly formatted citation at the end of the
presentation.

Organized and clear delivery of content (presentation skill/style) – be sure to organize the content
and delivery of your presentation before you present. Use visuals; a PowerPoint presentation is
one way to organize your presentation. There are many others as well. Use what works for you and
your presentation.
•
Sharing the Article with the Class – In Week 5 on Moodle you will find a discussion thread in which
you can share your article with the class. Post this by the start of class on the day of your
presentation.
•
Posting your slides to the COVID-19 assignment folder – After you present post your slides to the
class, post them to the COVID-19 presentation assignment in Moodle (Week 5). Optional: You can
also share your slides with the class via the discussion post (where you post your article).
