PEER POST # 1
I think I’d like the role of Data Engineer and Database Architect. I like the process of planning out a database and implementing it. I like thinking about the characteristics and relationships of the data that needs to be stored, who will access it, and how it will be used. I will need organizational skills and to be detail-oriented, so that I can organize the database logically and make it easy to access the data. Attention to detail will help me to avoid mistakes. I will need communication skills as well to work well with the team I will be placed in. I like learning new things, so I think that will help me as well in this career so that I’m always finding new and better ways to do things.
I’m hoping to pursue a career in web development. I plan to use the skills I’ve learned to make helpful websites with easy-to-use, clear databases. In this course, I learned how to create databases using an entity relationship diagram. This is a skill I will continue to use as I create and maintain websites. I also learned ways to update and edit tables, which I think will be helpful as well.
