Overview
Design and develop a website using modern design practices. Your website will contain a home page and at least 3 content/subpages for a total of four (4) pages. You are required to create a single external style sheet (.css file) that configures the entire website’s text, color, and page layout.
Your site can be an online portfolio or a personal website on topics of your choosing like your interests, hobbies, career goals, or anything similar related to you.
Required Deliverables
- Website published on your Github domain and fully accessible online.
Copy of website zipped (compressed) and uploaded to Brightspace.
Minimum Technical Requirements
- Four (4) HTML pages that include appropriate titles
- One (1) HTML table used correctly and styled
- One (1) form with at least two (2) form elements (form does not need to process).
- One (1) list (unordered, ordered, or definition) with at least three (3) items
- At least two (2) external links to relevant sites
- At least one (1) image element in HTML
- At least one (1) image displayed through CSS
- Each page must have a clear document hierarchy through the use of headings
- Each page must link to all pages on the site internally (no orphans) – consistent navigation
- The pages must use page elements (header, main, aside, footer, etc) and be styled/laid out through CSS (normal flow is not acceptable).
- Your site must include special mobile layout rules through the use of a @media query
- All HTML/CSS must validate without warnings or errors
Other Requirements
You must test your website on at least two browsers and one mobile device.
You will provide a lessons learned reflection (2-3 paragraphs) included either as part of your website or in the comments of this assignment submission – whichever makes sense for your project. Your Lessons Learned reflection must include:
- A self-reflection completing this project. Think about your challenges and triumphs and any other thoughts about the project.
- Any observations or lessons learned by testing on multiple browsers and devices.
Any reflections on what you learned in the course as a whole.
