Project 1-UI Evaluation-

FOR THE PROJECT, YOU NEED TO HAVE 2 FEATURES

Project 1 description and objectives

This project aims to evaluate from an HCI and usability point of view an existing application design or a new application that you will design or redesign in the next project 2.

The application should be the one that the instructor approved.

1. Select a product with an interface. The application can be hardware with a computer interface (like a GPS or an app for mobile) or a software application. Suggest the applications that you want to work on the page for the P1 app on Canvas.
2. Evaluate the interface and select features you want to design, redesign, or create (If you are designing a new feature). Please provide a description of what needs it will satisfy and the specificity of your application. Feature evaluation must include the steps to complete the task.Time to complete a task, and so on. Evaluate how easy/difficult it is to use each feature and why.
3. Conduct a comparative study of at least three similar product features. The comparative UI must be based on the application of user interface rules, principles, standards, and guidelines discussed in lectures and reading materials). Unrelated to UI comparative such as the number of users, marketing materials, and so on, are unacceptable.
4. Determine the target audience and define user profiles three Personas.
5. Define the usability metrics for your new design (measurable metrics)
6. Complete user testing (Usability testing) with at least three participants
7. Define the user requirements. Requirements must be actionable, and you will use them for your project 2.
8. What did you learn from this project?
9. Report your full project on the due date

Guidelines Final Report

Your final report should be 10 – 20 pages. It should be 8.5 x 11-inch paper at 12 pt type and single-spaced with 1″ margins all around. Figures and tables in your report should be sequentially numbered and specifically referred to in your text. The screen’s must-have captions explaining what you want to show should also be grouped at the end of your paper and do not count in the page limit. The paper should be referenced with a list of cited references at the end (not included in the page count). Citations/references APA Format)

• Upload a soft copy of the report on the due date.
• The report must have a cover page with the project’s title, name, and last four digits of the student ID. Use the project one report template.
• It must be written in clear English.
• Only include text copied from sources (or previous students’ work) if there is a clear reference to the consulted document.
• It must cover all the areas in the section above.
• Insert the page number and your name in the footer of your document.
• Your file name should be ISE 164_P1_YourName
