1. Introduction
CIT-Client Services proposes that the existing desktop and laptop platform be replaced with laptop and
docking station.
The current platform will need a full hardware refresh in 4 years. Therefore, if we began now we will
reap benefits earlier than if we wait until the next windows for hardware refresh
2. What’s the Problem?
The Capital Expenditures and Operational Expenditures for BCU Faculty technology continues to rise.
The reason is that more than 50% of the faculty have two computers one mobile, the other in the office
on premises. The underlying cause is that Zoom is being used for instruction whether at the educator
home, office, or classroom. This has led to a unnecessary duplication of technologies, which the IT
Department is still responsible for maintaining.
3. How Will you solve it?
1) Reduce redundancy
In the future, the current fleet of Lenovo M92/M93/M900/M90A and Dell 5060/7460 All In One will be
removed from the office setting.
2) Allocate Docking Station
The proposed solution would be provided adequate user experience to the faculty, regardless of
setting. Of course, the most optimum worksite would be the Faculty Office.
4. Executive Summary
Following the proposal would lead to reduction in CAPEX AND OPEX, optimal performance can be
maintanted when the educator is focused on the subject matter. Security and data integrity are also
enhanced.
