Women’s in Saudi Arabia cover their face using a Niqab which only leaves the eyes exposed as well as, the Burqa that covers the face with mesh such that the eyes are not seen. However, when they go out of Saudi Arabia they choose not to wear any form of covering on their faces. The issue of covering the face has been a source of controversy such that several countries in the world have placed a ban on adornment of religious clothes, whilst other countries either consider placing a ban on religious clothing or placing a limitation on their use. The wearing of veils gets criticized as it get seen as a form of oppression on women which is why some countries has prohibited women covering their faces. The covering of the face should not be banned as it violates an individual’s freedom of choice. The wearing of veils among women in Saudi Arabia should be worn by women in Saudi Arabia, in any places to cover their faces as a way for them to observe their culture.

Opponents of clothing worn by Saudi Arabia women such as Niqab and Burqa argue that women do so as they get forced to wear them. Hence, they should not be worn in public. Nevertheless, the fact is that adorning clothes that cover the faces of Saudi Arabia women serve as a way for the Muslim women to practice their religion. Moreover, it ensures that women do not get viewed as objects by the society. Hence, a ban on clothing worn by Muslim women in reality oppresses the Muslim women as it prevents them from practicing their religion.

Critics of covering the face of women from Saudi Arabia argue that this is out of date. Nonetheless, this is not true as the garments worn by women from Saudi Arabia are a spiritual garment and cannot be governed by the time as they are not backwards. As a matter of fact, clothing worn by Saudi Arabia women has gained popularity among women in the west who have converted to Islam. It is up to a human being to decide whether to cover their faces as they wish. Women should not get subjected to judgment on the basis of what they wear as it does not make women lesser humans just because they choose to cover their faces.

One argument advanced by people that are against covering of faces by women in Saudi Arabia is the popular believe that it is threatening to a section of the populace in the world. While people may feel intimidated by women who cover their faces they have no reason to fear, as the intention of covering the face is not to invoke fear among people. As such, people should understand that women who cover their faces are human beings with varying individual personalities far from the threatening feeling that they seem to invoke among other people. It is noteworthy, that forms of clothing that should invoke intimidation since they are on the extreme yet a simple way of dressing seems to cause intimidation. Examples of these forms of dressing include revealing clothes, body piercing, odd hairstyles and exceptionally short dresses.

The covering of the faces of Saudi Arabia women get seen as a way of male dominance in women. This line of argument fails to recognize that covering of the face of Saudi Arabia women does not in any way make them lesser beings to men. As a matter of fact women that cover their faces do so as they have decided to do so. This is in spite the fact that such women may not have male relatives.

The argument that covering of the face by women makes them antisocial is untrue. This is due to the fact that covering of the face of Saudi Arabia women does not hinder them from interacting with other people in society as well as, participate in community activities. As a matter of the fact, covering of the face is not essential when women are interacting with other women. Women who make a choice to cover their faces are distinctive individuals, and it is unreasonable as well as, erroneous to make such a form of judgment in the basis of the kind of clothing that a woman has chosen to adorn.

Supporters of a ban in the covering of the face of Saudi Arabia women argue that it prevents women from making a contribution to society. Nonetheless, this is far from the truth as covering of the face of Saudi Arabia women does not hinder them from seeking higher education. As such, there are a great number of women from Saudi Arabia who choose to cover their faces yet they are thriving in their careers while a large number of these women are extremely well-read. Since the arrival of Islam Aisha who was the spouse of Prophet Muhammad, got regarded as one of the chief scholars to have ever existed in Islam. Covering the by Aisha did not hinder her from attaining prominence as a scholar who taught women and men in her community.

Indeed, covering of the face of women in Saudi Arabia does not act as a means of dominance by the male gender, neither does it act as a form of oppression of Saudi Arabia women. Moreover, it does not hinder women from making a contribution to the society or interacting with other individuals in the culture. As a matter of fact, it acts as a way of Saudi Arabia women to express their religion and to pursue their interests without having to worry about inquisitive eyes of men. As a result, people get evaluated on the basis of their character and not outward look.
