The lesson by Toni Bambara VS. The Leson ny Jessamyn West

Choose any two characters from the readings. Compare or contrast how these characters (or narrators) faced or taught major life lessons. What, exactly, was the lesson? If the character was the teacher, do you think he/she was a good one? Why, or why not? If the character was the student, do you think the lesson learned will change his/her life? How?

Central Claim:  In both stories “The Lesson” by Jessamyn West and Toni Cade Bambara, the main characters learned major lessons. Jo Learned how to say goodbye earlier than late and Sylvia learned that white people had more power and control due to their social class
