Introduction

Gladwell Grocery Store does not have a human resources information system and this makes it difficult for the human resources manager to manage the people. Without such a system in place, monitoring becomes a challenge because the manager needs to be physically present at different locations for him to understand how different employees are performing. This leads to high levels of inefficiencies in the system thereby negatively affecting the productivity of the business. Basically, the HR manager has to do everything manually. This is tiresome because he has a large area to supervise. By performing repetitive tasks frequently humans become tired and this negatively affects the performance. This is what the HR manager is going through and the business is feeling the effect.

Business Assessment

Managing employees is one of the most challenging tasks in any business organization. Considering the fact that employees are responsible for all the processes and operations that go on in a business, it is important for the human resources manager to make use of the most effective strategies that will yield the best results (Price, 2011). In this case, the HR manager at Gladwell Grocery Stores should be able to, first of all, understand that he works with employees that come from diverse backgrounds. Keeping this in mind, it is important for him to make use of technology to make sure that his management is effective. Basically, there is a need for implementing a computerized human resources management system that will make it easier to manage the employees of the company.

The chosen function is motivating employees. One of the major reasons why this function is chosen is the idea that the HR manager he’s an inspiration to the rest of the employees. As a result of this, the HR manager should motivate and encourage employees to perform even better. He needs to assist them in all ways possible to make sure that the employees perform at their best (Michael, 2013).

Conclusion

The company will benefit from the human resource information system because this will make it easier for the HR manager to monitor and supervise the employees. Through this, the manager will be able to understand the performance of different employees and will take necessary measures to make sure that he assists them to perform better. Computer systems will deliver the performance reports of different employees to the manager and this will enable him to know how well to motivate his workforce in the right manner.
