I’m studying industrial and organizational psychology in college. Because my major close relate to the business, I decided to get a minor in business administration. After then, I’m thinking what job I want to do in the future. I hope I can improve the organization’s structure and efficiency, and help employees to have a better working environment. I may join the human resources department in the future or join consulting company to provide suggest for the company. My father is a business man and I grew up in a strong business atmosphere. Most companies in my hometown is family business with the concentration of power. Employees may get a great treatment about the money, but they don’t really care about employees’ mental status and company structure. Everyone just listen to the big boss and he decide everything. I am deeply aware that this will not work anymore. I saw they have to sell their company to the organization who know how to manage a company or declared bankrupt. Even economic decline is a reason why they cannot continue run their company, I believe irrational structure of the business and unscientific management are also the mainly reasons. I realize the problem and learn to know how to operate a company. IO psychology helps me to establish and strengthen my theoretical knowledge about organization and employees. At the graduate level, I hope I can have more practical opportunities and learn How to do it. The human resource program can help me to know what I should do and more related the job I want to do in the future. I have a generally idea about how the organization and employees work that contributed by my psychology courses. I also took the business class. It will help me have a good performance in the program. I’m good in statistic and data analysis. I can do the performance appraisal and using the tools-R and SPSS. I like to plan my jobs and manage the time. I don’t have experiment about the human resources. The business environment I grew up bring me some thought and the program I take will improve my thought. I have the idea about how the organization is about and try to do my best to study. I will be very helpful for my future career plan.
