Annotated Bibliography: Death and Dying

Australia, H. (2016). Death and dying.

The author talks about the feeling people have about death. He looks at the grief that people have for losing loved ones and the feeling that one would have if they reunited with loved ones that died. He also looks at how to feel about the fact that, they will die one day.

I will use this work to support my argument about the pain and grief that death brings. I will also use this work to support my argument on why people sometimes get into death processes they could avoid.

Corr, C. A., Corr, D. M., & Doka, K. J. (2018). Death & dying, life & living. Cengage Learning.

The authors of this work discuss the legal, conceptual and moral issues about death. According to the authors, though it is one’s life, it is immoral to take it. They also discuss the legal consequences of attempts to take one’s own life. The authors also discuss aided death, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. They look at the circumstances that lead to these, and the positive and negative attributes of aided death.

I will use this work to support my argument about the moral position and legal consequences of taking one’s life. I will also use the source to explain why euthanasia happens, and the moral and legal sides of euthanasia.

Isaacs, D. (2015). Death and dying. Journal of paediatrics and child health, 51(6), 569-570.

The author acknowledges that one day, every one of us will die. The author argues that, if death is not premature, but through the aging process, then it has an important role in the process of evolution through natural selection. Isaacs argues that, in tough, hard moments, the fit species survive. As a result, when the less adapted die, then their genes die and are not transmitted to future generations.

I will use this work just to support my argument about the importance of death as a process of creating more adapted humankind.

Larson-Miller, L. (2016). Death and dying. The Study of Liturgy and Worship: An Alcuin Guide.

According to Larson-Miller, death and dying are spiritual. It is the will of God for us to die. As a result, the answers to the mystery of death lies within the framework of spiritual understanding. The author, however, acknowledges that the church does not have an answer to the mystery of death.

I will use this work to explain death in a spiritual context. I will use it to explain why it is common believe for the majority of the world population that, death and dying are spiritual and also bury their loved ones spiritually.
