1. Describe your research topic & explain why you are interested in exploring the topic or why the topic is important to study.
2. A brief summary describing what is known about your research topic and what you believe needs to be known next.
a. This portion of the presentation should be based on a critical analysis of at least 2 studies or literature review related to your research topic.
· Evaluation Criteria Points
· 1.Describe your research topic & explain why you are interested in exploring the topic or why the topic is important to study.
· 2. A brief summary describing what is known about your research topic and what you believe needs to be known next based on a critical analysis of at least 2 studies or literature review related to your research topic.
· 3.A description of your research question(s) narrowing down from the research topic
·
4. What kind of research are you proposing? (Quantitative – correlational, causal comparative, Qualitative, Mixed, etc.) If a quantitative method is used by itself or as a part of a mixed method design, what are your dependent and independent variables? How will you measure each dependent variable?
· What population are you studying? (preschool children, elementary school teachers, etc.)
· How large is your proposed sample & how will you choose your sample? (random sample, stratified sample, convenience sample, typical case etc.)
· Mechanics: Professional editing 5 pages [Cover (1), Main (3), & References (1)], double-spaced, 12 point font Times New Roman or Arial, APA format in citations and references (A minimum of 3 references (2 peer reviewed articles)
· As a continuation of your research project, you will design your research, develop data collection plans, and develop instruments. You are required to develop at least two – three different types of data collection methods (e.g. surveys, interviews – individual, focus group) or two – three different sources of data collection (e.g. surveys for teachers, students, and administrators). Submit at least three sample instruments. For each instrument, explain its purpose and describe its development process with a sample of the instrument.
· Your report must address the following:
· Evaluation Criteria Points
· A description of your research question(s) and any changes on the research question
· 1Description of the kind of research (research design; quantitative, qualitative, mixed…)
· Description of specific data collection methods (e.g. survey, performance tests, interview, observation…) and specific procedure to collect data Development of instruments that are aligned with your research question and can answer the research question.
· Discuss how to establish Reliability and Validity of the instrument items.
· Attach sample instruments

My Own Research Problem and Questions:
1.What is your research problem?
My research problem is an action research titled Students’ media preference for the online class in our university.
2. What are your research question(s)?
(1) What kind of media is most effective for undergraduate level students’ comprehensive performance in online class in our university?
(2) Is there any relationship between their media preference and course type?
3. What literature (e.g. peer reviewed articles…) did you refer to when you formulate your research questions? List two articles.
I’d like to choose the journals to formulate my research.
(1) Cosco, Tara. (2016). Adult student preferences for communication media in an interactive online environment. Dissertation Abstracts International Section A: Humanities and Social Sciences, 76(8-A(E)), Dissertation Abstracts International Section A: Humanities and Social Sciences, 2016, Vol.76 (8-A(E)).
(2) Lyons, Reysen, & Pierce. (2011). Video lecture format, student technological efficacy, and social presence in online courses. Computers in Human Behavior, Computers in Human Behavior.
4. What type of research design would be used?
I’d like to use the quantitative method to design this research.
5. Provide details about how your participants would be recruited. Who are your participants? How are you going to recruit them?
For the first research question, I would like to use quantitative method of choosing 30 undergraduate students in CSUSB randomly and divide them into 3 groups, 10 students for each one, I show them a kind of media of online humanity class of a group and give them a test, all of the materials are the same content only the different expression method. Then, the second question will be achieved by survey questionnaire. Choosing 5 students of our sample and give them questionnaires to collect data.
6. What types of data would you collect?
I’ll collect the grades of the test and the result of survey questionnaires of their demographic characters and preference.
