After choosing a topic related to criminal justice intelligence functions, students will provide a comprehensive research paper.

Your comprehensive research paper serves as the course final examination and is due during 12
th week of the course. 

Your research topic is required to be relevant to current real-world criminal justice intelligence operations or issues. The research paper will be 10-15 pages (double spaced, 12 point New Times Roman) monograph describing a contemporary criminal justice intelligence issue(s) that you will analyze and make recommendations thereon. 

The objective of your final comprehensive research paper is to demonstrate that you have acquired a broad understanding of applicable principles that guide criminal justice intelligence operations, systems and approaches to how they support the ability of criminal justice agencies to detect, deter, prevent, respond to and mitigate criminal and terrorist activities. Your research paper provides you the opportunity to demonstrate that you can synthesize and apply what was presented during this course to real-world criminal justice intelligence management problems and decisions making. 

The criteria for the comprehensive research paper should follow the following format for submission to the course instructor:
