Using the attached reading write a 4 to 5-page paper (not 3 ½) about how the literary text we’ve read for engages with the issue of the psychological effects of racism and/or colonialism.  What argument, if any, would you say your literary text makes about these effects?  Or about the ability of individuals to have agency or makes choices within structures that systemically oppress?  If you choose to write on one of the poets we’ve read, you may analyze more than one of the poems we’ve read.
