Case Study

The client is a 30-year-old male who lives with his parents; father and mother, ages 55, and sister, age 18. He loves his home environment and gets along with his family members. He was diagnosed with Renal Disease secondary to Type I Diabetes. He developed Type I Diabetes at the age of 16 and has recently developed Renal Failure requiring dialysis twice weekly. After being diagnosed with Renal Disease and developing Renal Failure, Mr. Velázquez reports having frequent feelings of depression and anxiety due to stress and limited pain management.

Vocational objective: To become employed as a receptionist. With counseling, medical services and reasonable accommodations, he should achieve functional capacity for clerical work.
