It may sometimes be difficult to express one’s true sexual identity because of the bounds established by gender role stereotypes. Men are traditionally expected to be independent, aggressive, logical and in control of their emotions. Women are expected to be passive, nurturing, intuitive, sensitive and emotional. If an individual has a combination of traditional masculine and feminine traits, they are considered androgynous. Defining sexual identity is a combination of your biology, gender identity, chosen roles, sexual orientation, and personal experiences.
