Part 1

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

Discuss the use of modeling in systems engineering. At a minimum, address the following questions:

· What are the strengths and weaknesses of models?

· What impact does modeling have on systems engineering?

· How are models used in systems engineering to understand system performance, capabilities, and limitations?

· How are models used to reduce development costs?

Part 2: Article Reviews (1 page each)

For each article, complete the following:

· Identify the article.

· Identify the key assumptions of the article (3–5).

· Identify the key points of the article (3–5).

· Provide a perspective based on a foundation of accepted concepts and practices, theoretical postulates, and personal beliefs and practices.

· Provide a complete reference for both articles.
