2.  Explain the difference between white collar crime and street crime? Which of the two is considered the more serious by most members of the public? Is the public assessment the most objective evaluation? Why or Why not?

 3. In terms of cultural goals and the institutionalized means to attain them, describe each of the five typologies that Merton outlined in his strain theory.

 4.  Is the death penalty a deterrent to crime? If not, why do many states have and use it as a legal sanction?  If it is, why is it not used more?  If you are personally opposed to or in favor of the death penalty, try to think outside your own value system to think of reasons the other side may utilize to support their views.
