Floor Plan
A convenience store normally carries many items in a particular space. People depend on these stores for bread, milk, laundry detergent, batteries, coffee, snacks and many other items that one may wish to find quickly. People want to use the least time in the store and the storeowner cannot attend to every customer to locate what they want to purchase. Therefore, the owner must have a suitable floor plan for the convenient store in order to take advantage the business opportunities presented by all walk-in customers.
The convenience store’s floor plan is designed to address different issues. For instance, the store aisles are made in an attractive and suitable manner for customer shopping. However, it also leaves enough space to allow the owner to watch over the store to avoid shoplifting cases, which is common in such stores that carry many small items. In addition, the lighting, checking out counter and end caps are suitably planned to improve the practicality and ambience of the store layout.
On the other hand, the number of robberies in the stores is increasing recently. Therefore, the store implemented a thoughtful safety and security program to make both the customers and the store employees safe from any violent crime. The store has one entrance and an emergency exit. This limits the access points to the store. The layout ensures that no displays and signs block the cashier area. These together with a strategically located window provide clear visibility on the section. All sections of the store have sufficient lighting to improve surveillance. The storeowner has also installed a CCTV security system that covers the entire store and can review footage of any suspicious act.
