I like that you mentioned the differences in the leaders that be.  Japan has a Prime Minister and the United States has a Commander in Chief, the President.  How do their responsibility differ? Which member has the most power?  Is it diplomatic in nature where individuals are free to express their thoughts and live as they choose?  Or, do they have to abide by the rules of leader?  How free are the members from a collective society to use social media?  Does Japan government restrict some sites that it citizen can visit, unlike the U.S.?  Good food for thought and additional collaboration.

Even with globalization being the trend with people from different countries freely interacting, there still are a lot of differences in the ethical and legal structures of different countries because of the diversity in cultures. Like for instance, despite Japan and the United States being similar in some ways, they also differ in other aspects of life. One major difference between Japan and the United States of America is that the Japanese are led by a prime minister while the Americans have a president as their leader (Weisenthal, 2011).

National Diet is Japan’s legislature and consists of a lower house known as the House of Representatives and an upper house called House of councilors. Both houses of the Diet get elected directly under a parallel voting system by the people and it is the one responsible for designating the Prime Minister. They also have an Emperor who even though is ceremonial has some set responsibilities in the country. In the United States of America, the citizens get to vote on every first Tuesday in November so as to elect several members of the house representatives and senate as well as the president. The election of the president is done by the polling of votes of each of the states (Weisenthal, 2011).

Japan’s form of governance is quite different because the people do not get to elect their own prime minister. Formally, Japan is a democratic country, but this should show even in electing the leader (Weisenthal, 2011).
