Assignment Instructions

1. The second part of your text provides you with numerous lab experiments that can be used in your classroom, with an explanation of how the 5E Model applies to each. When you begin teaching this will prove to be an excellent resource, and is part of the reason I chose this text. Take some time and review a few of the experiments, and how the 5E Model is applied to each.

Next, go online and search for lab based lesson plans for elementary students (there are LOTS of them out there). Select one, and explain what takes place in terms of the 5E Model. If the lesson plan you select does not address all of the phases of the 5E model, suggest how you would modify it. Submit a full copy of the lesson plan, a url for the source, and your 5Eanalysis.

3. Though your text provides a very concise summary of the 5E Model, you might also wish to examine NASA’s version of the same model, which is contained on the Genesis Mission website. If these links do not work, click here for a copy of the 5E Model provided by NASA.
