Write an essay (suggested length of 3 pages based on your area of specialization which is K–8 certification. A. For your area of specialization:K-8 1. Briefly describe two in-class activities. The following are some examples of activities: K–8 in-class activities: • Use of learning centers and computer stations • Student attention and participation during teacher-led activities • Turning in assignments 2. For each activity, briefly describe two behavioral expectations you would have for that activity. B. For your area of specialization:K-8 1. Briefly describe two out-of-class activities. The following are some examples of activities: K–8 out-of-class activities: • Playground time or recess • Leaving the classroom as a group for the library, the cafeteria, or a specialty class • Field trips or assemblies 2. For each activity, briefly describe two behavioral expectations you would have for that activity. C. Describe (suggested length of 1 page) two evaluation methods to determine the level of student understanding of classroom behavioral expectations and consequences. (In other words, how will you know that all students understand the behavioral expectations for in-class and out-of-class activities?) D. If you choose to use outside sources, include all in-text citations and references (including information for any graphics or other copyrighted materials you used). Note: When using outside sources to support ideas and elements in a paper, the submission MUST include APA formatted in-text citations with a corresponding reference list for any direct quotes or paraphrasing. It is not necessary to list sources that were consulted if they have not been quoted or paraphrased in the text of the paper.
