PRIVACY- A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF THE 21st CENTURY

Statement of Purpose:

Is our privacy under siege one of the social issues confronting our society today? My paper analyses why privacy remains a contentious issue in contemporary society and often why an individual’s or group’s privacy is intruded. I like to discuss the factor behind the violation of piracy of people and the strategies employed by individuals to violate a person’s privacy, especially the usage of modern innovations and technologies to siege others privacy. I would also like to share the views of society today with respect to privacy and the laws that are prevalent as well as that are needed to be protected from a individuals violating others privacy.

Background:

Today an individual’s privacy is under siege almost at every place, in general, at work, college, home and online. My interest is to describe how often a person’s privacy is intruded and mostly where and how the violation of his/her violation occurs. My interest also coincides with the fact that I have a curiosity to share my views on issues facing the modern community. My enthusiasm to share my perspectives with respect to this kind of issues developed a comparative expertise when speaking on particular topics like the one I am speaking. I am an avid reader and a good listener as well as a writer with intuition. I have read and gone through various topics related to piracy along with attending many classes. My experience with writing on other social issues offers me the edge to compose a good document regarding this topic. My previous writings include, debatable topics like the Food Stamp program and morality, Usage of Technology today, Ethics in contemporary world etc.,.

Importance of the topic:

I feel that siege of one’s privacy is a contentious issue and so should be scrutinized at every level as it violates a person’s personal aspects, which is very much important to protect the rights of the people. It may be tough to keep one’s privacy under control due to the technology available today, yet people need to fight back to protect their own rights and further it is critical to understand why and how the privacy of a person comes under siege.

Methods of Research:

I think my previous experience in writing, debating and discussing would help me in organizing a good document. Also, my reading abilities would corroborate my writing skills. I like to go through various publications, either online or written. I would study various articles and books on modern technologies and their usage to break privacy and also would like to go through some psychological aspects of this particular topic, intrusion of privacy. Thus , ultimately I would compose a paper which is specific , which also provides a critical analysis on this particular topic.
