For a quantitative study: Topic- affordable housing in the United States
o Do the descriptive questions seek to describe responses to major variables?
o Do the inferential questions seek to compare groups or relate variables?
o Do the inferential questions follow from a theory?
o Are the variables positioned consistently from independent to dependent in the
inferential questions?
o Describe the data source – What instrument used? How is the sample selected?
What is the scale of measurement? What statistical tool is used for analysis?

Research Report: Research Methodology and Analysis Article Evaluation Assignment Instructions
Overview
Based on the topic used in prior assignments, find a peer-reviewed research article that uses a similar research question to the one that you have selected. Explore how the research article explains its methodology, research design, and analysis technique. Using the research techniques outlined by Creswell and Creswell, along with Edlund et al., using your topic of interest, state your proposed topic, research methodology, variables, research question, and analysis technique at the beginning of the paper in an Abstract. Then, in APA Style, give a complete citation of the selected article (include an Impact Factor of the article after the citation) and go on to answer the following questions for whatever methodology you plan on using:
· For a
qualitative study, do the research questions:
· Relate the central question to the strategy of inquiry?
· Begin with
what or
how (not
why)?
· Focus on a single phenomenon?
· Use exploratory verbs?
· Use nondirectional language?
· Use an open-ended format?
· Specify the participants and research site?
· Describe the findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
· For a
quantitative study:
· Do the descriptive questions seek to describe responses to major variables?
· Do the inferential questions seek to compare groups or relate variables?
· Do the inferential questions follow from a theory?
· Are the variables positioned consistently from independent to dependent in the inferential questions?
· Describe the data source – What instrument used? How is the sample selected? What is the scale of measurement? What statistical tool is used for analysis?
· What research design was used and how were the results analyzed?
· Describe the findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
· For a
mixed methods study, do the research questions:
· Indicate how the researcher will mix the two strands of the study (the procedures)?
· Convey the overall content intent of the study that calls for a mixed methods approach (the content)?
· Describe the findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
Instructions
Based on the topic used in prior assignments, find a peer-reviewed research article that uses a similar research question to the one that you have selected. Explore how the research article explains its methodology, research design, and analysis technique. This assignment will give you the opportunity to explore ideas similar to those that you are considering. This 10-to-15-page paper will give you experience in evaluating peer-reviewed research. Below are the format requirements:
· Length of assignment (10 to 15 pages)
· Reference to selected article should appear after your topic’s Abstract.
· Format of assignment (APA most recent edition).
· Number of citations – At least 1 reference should be included.
· Acceptable sources (e.g., Scholarly peer-reviewed article)
Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
