For this assignment students will research an issue, problem or opportunity facing an organization that could benefit from the simplex method.

Resources: University Library, the Internet, the Microsoft® Excel® Problem Solver add-in or an online mathematics utility, Ch. 6 of Finite Mathematics

Select a research issue, problem, or opportunity facing an organization of your choosing that could benefit from the simplex method.

Write a 500- to 700-word paper describing the selected issue, problem, or opportunity that can be solved using the simplex method. You may use the Microsoft® Excel® Problem Solver add-in or an online mathematics utility to solve the problem.

· Construct the objective function and constraints.

· Describe the solution of the problem.

· Interpret and write about the results of the solution. Attach the results of the simplex method output created in Microsoft® Excel® to your paper.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Option 2: Simplex Method Presentation

· For Online and Directed Study students, this is a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with notes.
