Criminal Justice System Paper

Write a 800 -word paper that includes the following:

 

Define crime, its relationship to the law, and the two most common models of how society determines which acts are criminal.

 

Describe the government structure as it applies to the criminal justice system.

 

Identify choice theories and their assumptions in regards to crime.

 

Describe the components of the criminal justice system and the criminal justice process.

 

Identify the goals of the criminal justice system.

 

Address your thoughts on whether the criminal justice system is really a system.

 

You do not necessarily need to address all of these topics if you would rather go into more depth about one or more of them.  However you should make it clear in your introduction which of these areas you will cover.

 

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Use only book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles and newspaper articles as references.  Do not use generic websites without specific journal or article identification as references.  Internal citations must identify page numbers from the references when required.  You can find such quality references in the University library.
