a) Social Psychology, which is the study of how people’s thought, feeling and actions are affected by others.

b) Personality Psychology, which focuses on the consistency in people’s behavior over time and the traits that differentiates one person from another.

c) Counseling Psychology, this focuses primarily on educational, social, and career adjustment problems.

2. The perspective on psychology that would be more helpful to the changes in Alexis’ life would be social psychology because this would be able to analyze the thoughts, actions and feeling she has towards other and where it stems from.

I think that it is a two edged sword, because the web and self -help books give a wide variety of information and sources that she can pull from which is a good thing, however not all information might be relevant to her and this is what may confuse her. It is also possible that since she is not a professional, her self-diagnosis may not be accurate, given on the web or in the self-help books the theory are normally more or like specific to individuals and it may not be effective to her situation.

4. I would advise Alexis to seek professional help, not from books or websites but a certified Psychologist, who specialize in the field pertaining to her problem.
