Film is a series of still or moving images that are produced by recording the images by using a camera. It’s actually a material. This can also be done by animation techniques or visual effects. Film are created by cultures as a way of art. Film are usually done in another language and are often educational and entertaining. Films are made up of individual images or frames. When viewing these frames rapidly in motion it causes an illusion that motion is occurring. While there is actually flickering occurring between frames, viewers cannot see this due to persistence of vision. In the united states film is known as “a movie”. An example of film is Citizen Kane and the original Wizard Of Oz. These are considered film because they are motionless frames put together to make a “film”. They are also in black and white and started off in another language(Film, 2011).

Popular cinema is not the same as film . It’s a style of entertainment. Its enjoyed by a large crowd in a movie theater or similar area. Popular Cinema is actually stored on film, while film is made up of different still frames. Examples of Popular Cinema are ET, Pirates Of The Caribbean and Indiana Jones. These are considered popular cinema because they are very popular movies, created in English and recorded onto a film and played in the theater.
