1-I believe that both of the major projects assigned in this course best demonstrate the application of the resume building skills. I feel that these projects are the best representations of the development of data analysis, systems analysis, communications, critical thinking, and writing because these projects required the utilization and enhancement of these skills for completion and mastery. I utilize communication quite often in my profession environment. As a 2nd year staff accountant, it is essential that I communicate with my co-workers to complete tasks and ask questions.A profession organization I would like to continue to learn more about is the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). I believe that being aware of the latest guidance from this organization is essential as I begin my studies for the CPA exams.I believe the content learned in this course will absolutely help my career development. Having a background in investments, foreign currency transactions, and state and local governmental accounting will give me an advantage when I am required to report financial statements in my profession.

3-one of the best skills building assignments was the few assignments where we had to prepare and analyze financial statements. In my accounting position, I often have to compare prior periods to current period to look for variances and preparing statements in any capacity builds the foundation of knowing how we get to the end balances. As I continue to grow in my field, I want to be able to dive deeper into the financials and build my understanding of what each statement reflects and how each entry impacts these statements. I certainly wish to learn more about the AICPA and just joined through this class, I didn’t realize you could join as a student, so I’m super excited to look through the website and begin my journey in becoming a CPA. I’ve seen firsthand the knowledge, understanding, critical thinking, ability and confidence those who have their CPA radiate and their ability to grow professionally. I’m not sure where exactly I’m reaching for position wise, but I really want to increase my understanding and ability within the accounting profession, and I feel like this would be a great place to start. I feel like my comprehension around accounting for investments, hedging, and foreign currency has increased. I only slightly dabbled in accounting with foreign currency, and the amounts were so small, but I found it fascinating. This class definitely increased my understanding and gave me a solid foundation to build on if my company (or future) were to invest/conduct business using foreign currency.
