Scenario

You are investigating one of your colleagues internally for a possible ethical standards violation. This colleague completed a fraud investigation of an embezzlement at a company in which her cousin is the CEO. One of your mutual friends mentioned to you that your colleague stated she was a little uncomfortable investigating her cousin. A tip received by the company stated that the controller does not want any damage to the reputation of the company and offered her $10,000 to not report any evidence found. As part of your investigation, your supervisor has asked you to prepare a memo describing the ethical violations that could be present in this investigation.

Prepare a memo to analyze whether this fraud investigator potentially violated ethical standards. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
