Write out the steps you use for conversion. Look up any conversion factors you need. You will receive zero credit for only writing the answers. Convert each unit individually. So in the first example, covert the length meters-> miles by scaling to the unit closest in size (meters-> kilometers ->miles, or meters-> feet -> miles) and then scale the time (seconds -> minute -> hours). You can show direct conversion for metric prefixes. 5 points per each problem.

Example. Convert 100 m/s to miles per hour

2) 2.2 lbs to mg

3) 3 square miles to square meters

4) 21 years to seconds

5) 1 nm to inches

6) 1ft-lbs to Newton-meter

7) 5000 mm^3 to cubic inches

8) A light year is the distance light travels in one year at a speed of 3*10^8 m/s, convert this to miles (d = v/t)

9) Convert 15 Trillion Dollars to weight in tons of pennies (penny = 2.5 grams, ton = 2000 lbs)

10) Cubic meter Volume of 15 Trillion Dollars in pennies ( 1 penny = .442 cm^3)
