MODERN SUPPLY CHAINS
Module 1 – Case
MODERN SUPPLY CHAINS
Omni-Channel Supply Chain Strategies
When online purchasing expanded, multi-channel supply chains developed to support the new buying patterns. As a result, “organizational silos” were created due to separate units or departments for sales through different channels. A disconnect grew within the organization. Inefficiency and inconsistency became the norm while transparency across the chain was reduced and costs increased.
Begin with SCOR Metrics: Understand the Structure of SCOR from the Case background readings to learn about the state of omni-channel supply chains. Then move to expert or consultant publications written within the past three years. You may consider acquisition, in-house services or outsourcing, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other technology tools that provide integration.
Provide a well-balanced assessment of what is required in omni-channel supply chains according to the readings and information from at least three experts (articles, interviews, presentations, etc.). You must include five different strategies/requirements (other than reverse logistics and returns which are addressed in this module’s SLP).
NOTE: No resources should be more than three years old for this assignment because the industry is changing rapidly and the goal is to remain relevant throughout your career.

Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite and reference the sources in APA format. The paper should be written in the third person; this means words like “I,” “we,” and “you” are not appropriate. For more information see First vs. Third Person. The excessive use of quotes or unoriginal content will directly impact performance since it suggests lack of comprehension and indicates that a student may not have mastered the concepts.
