Islam(Sunni)/ Orthodox Judaism and end-of-life issues
Dear writer, the Islam post is my initial discussion post. The Orthodox Judaism portion is separate (my reply discussion post to a student). Directions: Student will create their individual post on Islam (Sunni) and End-of-life Issues. Give a brief description of Islam (approximately half of your post). Research Islamic attitudes towards hospice care, organ donations (both giving and receiving) and autopsies. Discuss Islamic burial practices. Is cremation allowed or forbidden and why? How does the burial process relate to environmental conditions, if at all (large cities, desert landscape etc.)? What are the beliefs regarding the afterlife? Identify what values and worldviews are evident in these practices? How might nurses provide culturally sensitive support to the family or the dying person?Student will create their individual post on Orthodox Judaism and End-of-Life Issues Give a brief description of Orthodox Judaism (approximately half of your post).
